Meet Paul B. Tucker

Lead Advisor, Racial Equity & Program Facilitation

Paul is a multiracial gay man who has been doing diversity for 17 years. He started his DEIBA journey facilitating weekly roundtable discussions about race/class/gender intersectionality. Since then, he has helped diversify entry-level talent in Chicago’s tech industry, developed DEIBA strategies and action plans, and co-led thoroughly representative DEIBA committees and working groups. As an advisor and speaker at The Rise Journey, Paul works to help small HR teams and growing businesses design and implement strategies to build their best teams and develop sustainable and empowering organizational culture. Paul has a deep commitment and experience in supporting learning and development related to DEIBA and race relations in particular. He’s also a self-professed geek who loves dashboards and spreadsheets, KPIs and OKRs, slidedocs and reports. He regularly immerses himself in data to determine the impact of DEIBA programs on participants and organizational success.

Paul received bachelors degrees in social work and Spanish from Michigan State University, and he earned a Masters in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago.
